Prices and Payment
We welcome insured patients and offer all-inclusive fixed-price packages for self-pay patients. Below you’ll find typical fees for consultations and commonly performed hernia procedures at Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow.
Insurance & fixed-price packages
Patients with major healthcare insurers (including BUPA, AXA-PPP, Aviva, PruHealth, WPA, Cigna and most others) are typically covered to undergo surgery at the Centre.
If you do not have healthcare insurance, we offer attractive all-inclusive fixed price packages. Payment for fixed-price packages is made directly to Ross Hall Hospital.
- Pre-operative health assessment to confirm suitability for surgery
- Main treatment including hospital fee, surgeon’s fee, and anaesthetic fee (if performed under general anaesthesia)
- Post-discharge care including one postoperative clinic consultation
Patients with private medical insurance will usually need pre-authorisation from their insurer. If an excess applies, this is typically paid directly to the hospital.

Flexible payment support
The Self-Pay team at Ross Hall can offer attractive packages to spread the cost in affordable monthly instalments and may be able to offer limited interest-free credit, including the opportunity to benefit from 0% finance (subject to availability and eligibility).
Ross Hall also offers healthcare insurance called MyWay, combining digital and in-person services. With a GP referral, you may be able to arrange specialist appointments and necessary diagnostic tests (including MRI and CT) in a Circle Health Group hospital.
All inpatient costs for accommodation and meals are included in the surgical price. A date for a post-operative consultation is made before discharge and is included within the procedure price.
